The Phi Sigma Sigma chapter has many things to be proud of at Barry University. First, we have been the chapter of the year for 4 years in a row. We support community efforts and community service while having fun.
We also encourage and develop leadership, self development, and sisterhood through programs offered by the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation and Barry University. Most people do community service with their friends, but our bond is stronger then just friendship. We are a tier 3 group, which makes us one of the larges organizations at Barry University. We have put on several large formal dances.
What we do for Education
Each year, the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma host a "Rock-A-Thon" to raise money for the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation that support leadership development programs, scholarships, and educational grants. The chapter has also supported local educational groups that cater to underprivileged children by volunteering as readers, tutors, and big sisters.
In the past few years, we have donated more then $1300.00 per year to our educational goals. We have also raised money for other programs like, Ronald McDonnell Foundation, No More Tears, and many more community service programs.
What we do for the Community
Each semester we get together and give back to the community.Community service is at the heart of the chapter. We enjoy giving back to the community while we get to spend time together. Last year, we won 2 awards for the community service projects. One award was for raising the most amount of money compared to other chapters and the second award was for doing the most community service projects.

What we do for Fun
Joining a sorority would be nothing with out sisterhood. It is challenging to be in college and it's more challenging to have a big giving heart. That is why we have our "cool downs". Some of the ladies get together for some one on one time and sometimes we get together as a large group. Here are some of the adventures our sisters have been on in the past few years:
|study groups and tutor sessions||Formal Dances|
|nails, sushi, and South Beach||Cruises - Bahamas, Jamaica|
|Road Trips - Orlando, Keys, New York,||Retreats|
|Leadership Training - NJ, VT, DC||Sapphire Ball|
We have some traditional events that we host year to year. The biggest sisterhood event that everyone attends is the Retreat. We take off to a location and bunker down for the weekend. We have several games that we like to play and we also get some R&R
Our biggest social event is the Sapphire Ball. We invite other students from campus and we celebrate our successes. This event is a tie down, knock up dressing event. No holds bar on the dresses!
Our headquarters also host a leadership development program each year for the leaders of the chapter. Each year, some of the leaders of the chapter fly out of state for a weekend convention to learn the newest information from our headquarters. They cover the cost to send our sisters to different locations to learn about the chapter, about leadership, and to network with other sisters.
